December 1: The deadline for the mandatory use of Fastag at Toll Plazas on all National Highways (NH) across India is closing-in. With only 5 days to buy Fastag, it might be a good time to buy one, if your car doesn’t have a FASTag already.
There are multiple options to buy a FASTag for your car. You can either physically buy one at certain toll plazas across India, by carrying your identification (PAN, VOTER ID, Driving License, etc.) as well as the vehicle registration documents with you. This is a mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) process.
Alternatively, and this could perhaps be simpler as well—you could buy one on Amazon.in or approach certain banks for these FASTags. Step 1: Fill in the personal details of the applicants. It will ask you for some basic details like Name, DoB, etc along with an id proof and mobile number for OTP.
Step 2: Fill in the residential location of the applicants. You will be asked for your address and car details including the make and the model. Tag details are displayed in this window with the amount you have to pay for the tag.
Step 3: Confirm the details entered and enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
This completes your FASTag registration process and you will receive FASTag Id over SMS and the tag will be delivered to you in 7-8 days.
