Coming Soon: E-pan In Four Hours

PAN Card is the basic document to make financial transactions and necessary to file the returns. It’s also one of the primary documents for GST, IEC and DIN. Since it takes at least 15-20 days to get new PAN card issued from NSDL, all the financial formalities dependent upon it get undue delayed. Keeping that in mind the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the tax department is working on plans to provide PAN card in 4 hours. The long wait for the PAN card will end and it will be made within a few hours.
Sushil Chandra, chairman of CBDT has recently quoted “we are working hard on the e-Pan Card scheme to provide PAN Card in just 4 hours. We are bringing a new system, this change is very positive and this scheme will be implemented very soon. Now filling up e-KYC with Aadhar Card Id one would be able to get e-PAN Card in 4 hours”.
It is noticeable here that linking of Aadhar with PAN has been made mandatory vide the recent judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court. CBDT launched the e-PAN facility in April 2017 and testing phase is almost over. The scheme will be rolled out soon. Under this, the soft copy of PAN Card is sent to every applicant via e-mail in PDF format. The applicant can download and use the e-PAN in the same manner as physical PAN Card.
